Mama D’s Food Shop is Ready to Feed the Community
On Wednesday afternoon, the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce traveled with their blue ribbon and their golden scissors to welcome yet another business to the community.
This time, the focus was on Mama D’s Food Shop, which is ran by Daphne Stockdale and Shaubre Stockdale Maland. The mission of Mama D’s is to feed the mind while nourishing the body. A couple times a month, the duo work on meal pickups through pre-order. Those that order food can pull right up to the curb of the Business Technical Assistance Center (BTAC) on Carbon Avenue and the food will be brought out.
Daphne stated that they focus on rice bowls, salads and the like for easy lunches throughout the week and, other times of the month, they make family meals. Those that want a family meal can order for different sizes, depending on how big the family may be.

Price City P&Z Discusses Re-Location of Pinnacle Canyon Academy
Price City Planning and Zoning held their regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 24 with just a few items to discuss. However, one of the items discussed is sure to have a big impact, not only on Pinnacle Canyon Schools, but also, the community as a whole.
Pinnacle Canyon Schools has made the decision to relocate their elementary school to accommodate their growing enrollment numbers and future enrollments. After much discussion with Price City, it was determined that the old Price Reeves School, which is currently occupied by Business Technical Assistance Center (BTAC) located on 375 South Carbon Avenue, would be the ideal location. After some research, Pinnacle Canyon Schools was able to determine that quite a bit of their student population live in close proximity to the BTAC occupied building.
Planning and Zoning Chair Jan Young asked to receive a motion to open up public hearing portion regarding the possible re-zoning. With no one from the public in attendance to give public comment the public comment period was closed.
Mayor Kourianos advised that Pinnacle plans to provide busing and education for kindergarten through fifth grade.
As of right now, it is unclear as to where the BTAC and occupying businesses will be relocating too. However, the BTAC board of directors are scheduled to meet Feb.25, to discuss the future of BTAC. A public hearing will also be held during Price City’s regularly scheduled city council meeting on Feb. 26, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
